About Dr Bapaye - Accolades

As a spearhead of the Dept of Gastroenterology at Deenanath Mangeshkar Hospital in Pune, Dr Amol has been at the forefront of the department being recognized as the most advanced and providing best in care in digestive diseases in Pune. Under his leadership, the department has evolved into a tertiary referral centre for advanced diagnostic and interventional endoscopic procedures in Western India.

 

 

Dr Amol Bapaye has many firsts to his credit:

 

  • Popularized ERCP in Pune and surrounding districts
  • Participated in establishing Pune's first capsule endoscopy service in year 2006
  • First in Pune to perform Endoscopic Ultrasonography (EUS) procedures, at DMH, for precise diagnosis and grading of cancers and other ailments of the digestive tract. He followed it up with the launch of interventional EUS in the same year
  • First to introduce Digital Chromo endoscopy in Pune in 2008.
  • First in India to perform Endoscopic Submucosal Dissection (ESD)
  • First endoscopist in Pune to be conferred a fellowship of the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (FASGE).
